What a busy time of year! Work, life, non-work work (aka professional development), friends, family, fun… This time of year has it all for me. To get myself back on track, here are a few updates.

2015 Nonprofit Technology Conference

This conference was such an amazing experience and I was honored to be on the mainstage giving an Ignite talk to nearly 2,000 people! If you missed it, check out my Ignite talk video + slides. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the idea of “using” volunteers. The NTEN staff and volunteers did an incredible job creating a wonderful learning environment. I sincerely hope to attend the conference next year in San Jose, California.

After the conference I was invited by PDXTech4Good to share my Ignite talk again, but in an extended format. Several other 15NTC presenters were sharing their sessions, and I believe there will be video of all of the presentations at some point. PDXTech4Good is such a great group of folks; if you’re a do-gooder in the Portland area, I highly encourage you check out one of their upcoming events. Even if you’re not a self-professed techie, there’s something for everyone.

Guest Blogging

I’ve had my first guest blog for Twenty Hats published today! It’s all about listening to things volunteers are saying online. Give it a read and let me know if you have thoughts on the topic: What Are Your Volunteers Saying About Your Organization? I’m excited to be working with Elisa of Twenty Hats as an ongoing guest blogger, so there will be more posts coming up over the coming months.

Looking Ahead

Oh, how I wish I could share more news! Let’s just say it involves some writing, traveling, and speaking. I’ll share more as soon as details are confirmed!
